EDEL53707 – Idaho Association for Bilingual Education (IABE) Conference 2026

Course Description

Participants will need to pay an additional registration fee of $130 to molly.fuentealba@languageliteracycollaboration.org to participate in this course.

The course is designed to bring together educators who support Multilingual Learners and their families. Sessions focus on successful student learning in math, science, social studies, and English Language Arts by incorporating WIDA’s proficiency level descriptors. Participants will explore strategies for long-term English Learners, L1 literate newcomers, and students who may have had limited or interrupted formal schooling and may be preliterate. The training also encompasses programs and networking for dual language and refugee services.

Course Requirements

  • Attend 1/29/2025 6pm-9pm & 1/30/2025 8am-3:30pm
  • Post reflections & respond to peers on Padlet
  • Reflection must include 2 of the 3 keynotes and 4 of the 5 breakout sessions
  • Participant must respond to at least 3 peers
  • Each reflection and response should be at least 3-5 sentences long
  • Take one selfie in front of the IABE conference logo, with colleagues or in a session, then post to social media, Padlet, or share with a peer usingthe hashtag #IABE2026
